Trade Press Articles

During the silent era, the two main specialist publications catering to British cinema managers, distributors, and manufacturers were Kinematograph Weekly (from 1907) and Bioscope (from 1908). Scotland had its own periodicals such as the Glasgow Programme, the Entertainer, and the Scottish Cinema in 1919. This collection is the product of a systematic revision of Bioscope from 1908 to 1927, and pieces from other publications gathered in the course of our research, including a large number of references to American trade journals found through their digitised versions at the Media History Digital Library.
